Mrs Bird has executed the survey in a most creditable manner and fully carried out my instructions in all the details of the work.

She has furnished me with the following plans: Kowloon Peninsula on a scale of 200 feet to 1 inch, shewing the cultivated land, the hills are tinted, the southern portion being contoured at 20 feet heights; the levels taken, and each Village being taken above high water. All houses except temporary Cantonments are given in detail.

Kowloon Peninsula is of similar description on a scale of 300 yards to 1 inch.

The villages of Tai-pai-chooey, Tsun-tha-chooey, Ma-low-chorung, Mang-Kong, Ma-tow-wei, and Too-Na-wan in Hock are delineated on a scale of 50 feet to 1 inch.

The above services having been executed to my satisfaction, I have the honor to request that the Duke of Newcastle's warrant Despatch No 17 of 17th February 1863 may be issued for the remuneration approved, viz. $1,200.
